Converting a Collector to an Artist
Sometimes a collector starts showing work, or an artist signed up through the collector link by mistake. Do not create a second account for them. Convert the one they have.
- Open the collector's page
- In the Account card, click the quiet Convert to an artist line to open it
- Click Make them an artist and confirm
Owners and admins can do this.
What changes and what does not
- They keep the same sign-in: same email, same password
- They keep their purchases and history
- They gain the artist portal and an artist profile, and you can now add them to shows
- They stop being listed as a plain collector. If they have bought, they still appear under Collectors, tagged Artist.
Another route to the same result: on Settings → Users, changing someone's role to Artist does the same conversion, artist profile included.
