Managing Artist Payouts
Payouts is a ledger of what you owe each artist. You pay them your own way and mark it done.
Artist Payouts
Read this first. Art Show Hub does not pay your artists. Payouts is a record, not a payment processor. It tracks what you owe each artist so nothing gets lost, and you pay them however you already do, by bank transfer, PayPal, or a cheque in the post. Then you mark it paid here.
You almost certainly already have a way of paying your artists. We are not trying to replace it, just to make sure the numbers are right and nobody is forgotten.
How a balance appears
- A buyer completes an order
- A payout record is created in Pending for each artist in that order
- Your commission is subtracted, and the remainder is that artist's balance
- You review the balances at Payouts in the sidebar
Paying and marking it done
- Pay the artist through your own bank, PayPal or cheque
- Come back to Payouts and click Mark Paid
- The balance clears and the payment is on the record for your books
How each artist wants to be paid
Artists choose PayPal or cheque on their own Payouts page, and add either a PayPal address or a postal address so you have what you need. Those two are the whole list. Artists do not connect a payment processor to Art Show Hub.
Coming later: paying artists directly from the platform is something we may add once the core is settled. It is deliberately not here yet, because most galleries already have this handled and another payment relationship to manage is not a favour.
