Assigning Artists to Shows

How to add or remove artists from shows, and what happens when they are assigned.

Assigning Artists to Shows

Artists must be assigned to a show before they can submit artwork to it. This gives you full control over who participates in each show.

First, the artist has to be on your roster. Only artists you have already added under Artists in the sidebar can be assigned to a show. If a name is missing from the list, go to Artists, add or invite that person, then come back to the show.

Adding Artists to a Show

There are two places to do it, and both save straight away:

  1. In the show editor (Shows → the show → Edit): the Artists in This Show section lists your whole roster. Tick the people who are exhibiting and click Save Changes (or Create Show for a new show).
  2. On the show page (Shows → the show): under Artists, choose a name and click Add to show. That button is the save; there is no separate Save step.

What Happens When Assigned

  • The show appears in the artist's Artist Portal when submitting artwork
  • The artist can submit artworks to the show through the 4-step submission wizard
  • The artist receives an email notification about the assignment (if notifications are enabled)

Removing Artists from a Show

Click Remove next to an artist's name in the show's artist list, or untick them in the show editor and save. If the artist has already submitted artworks to the show, those artworks will remain in the system but will no longer appear on the public page if the artist is removed.

Note: Removing an artist from a show does not delete their artwork submissions. The artworks are preserved in case you re-add the artist later.
