Artwork Status & Visibility

How Pending, Approved, Rejected, and Changes Requested statuses affect public display.

Artwork Status & Visibility

Every artwork has a curation status that determines whether it appears on the public show page.

Status Types

  • Pending — The artwork has been submitted and is waiting for review in the curation queue. It is not visible on the public show page.
  • Approved — The artwork has been approved by an admin or curator. It is visible on the public show page and available for purchase (if priced).
  • Rejected — The artwork has been declined. It is not visible on the public page. The artist sees the rejection in their portal.
  • Changes Requested — The curator has asked the artist to make changes (e.g., better images, updated description). The artwork is not visible publicly until re-submitted and approved.

Without Curation

On plans that do not include curation, submitted artworks are automatically set to Approved and appear on the public page immediately.

Changing Status

Admins and curators can change an artwork's status at any time from the artwork detail page or the curation queue. The artist receives an email notification when their artwork's status changes.

Tip: Use "Changes Requested" with a note to the artist explaining what needs to be fixed. The artist can then update and re-submit the artwork.
