User Roles & Permissions Explained
Full breakdown of Owner, Admin, Curator, Artist, and Collector roles and what each can do.
User Roles & Permissions
Art Show Hub uses a role hierarchy to control what each user can see and do. Roles are listed from highest to lowest access level.
Owner
The organization creator. Full access to everything, including:
- All admin capabilities
- Billing and subscription management
- Organization deletion
- Transferring ownership
Admin
Full operational access, except billing and owner-level actions:
- Create, edit, and delete shows
- Manage artists and artworks
- Process orders and payouts
- Invite and manage team members
- Configure settings (branding, payments, shipping, domains)
Curator
Focused on content review:
- Review and curate artwork submissions (approve, reject, request changes)
- View shows and artworks
- Cannot manage settings, billing, or team
Artist
Self-service access via the Artist Portal:
- Manage their own profile and bio
- Submit artworks to assigned shows
- View their own sales and payout history
- Cannot see other artists' data or organization settings
Collector
Public-facing user access:
- Browse shows and artworks
- Vote and favorite artworks
- Purchase artworks and track orders
- Manage their own account and addresses
Note: Each user has exactly one role per organization. Roles can be changed by Owners and Admins from the Team page.
