User Roles & Permissions Explained

Full breakdown of Owner, Admin, Curator, Artist, and Collector roles and what each can do.

User Roles & Permissions

Art Show Hub uses a role hierarchy to control what each user can see and do. Roles are listed from highest to lowest access level.

Owner

The organization creator. Full access to everything, including:

  • All admin capabilities
  • Billing and subscription management
  • Organization deletion
  • Transferring ownership

Admin

Full operational access, except billing and owner-level actions:

  • Create, edit, and delete shows
  • Manage artists and artworks
  • Process orders and payouts
  • Invite and manage team members
  • Configure settings (branding, payments, shipping, domains)

Curator

Focused on content review:

  • Review and curate artwork submissions (approve, reject, request changes)
  • View shows and artworks
  • Cannot manage settings, billing, or team

Artist

Self-service access via the Artist Portal:

  • Manage their own profile and bio
  • Submit artworks to assigned shows
  • View their own sales and payout history
  • Cannot see other artists' data or organization settings

Collector

Public-facing user access:

  • Browse shows and artworks
  • Vote and favorite artworks
  • Purchase artworks and track orders
  • Manage their own account and addresses
Note: Each user has exactly one role per organization. Roles can be changed by Owners and Admins from the Team page.
