Adding Your Voice to Automatic Emails

What you can and cannot change in the emails the platform sends for you.

Adding Your Voice to Automatic Emails

Art Show Hub sends a handful of emails on your behalf: an order confirmation to a buyer, a sale notification to an artist, a curation decision, an invitation, and so on. You can add your own words to any of them at Settings → Emails.

How it actually works

This is the part people expect to work differently, so it is worth being precise. You are not writing the whole email. The platform writes the email, with the order details, the artwork, the buyer information and the links. What you add is a personal note that sits inside it as a highlighted block, plus an optional subject line of your own.

Think of it as a card tucked into the parcel, not the parcel.

What you control

  • Custom subject line: leave it blank to keep ours
  • Custom message: your note, shown prominently inside the email
  • On or off: each email type can be switched off entirely if you would rather it did not go

What we control

  • The order, artwork and account details, so they are always correct
  • The layout and the links
  • Your gallery logo and colors, which come from your branding settings automatically

What is not there yet

Being straight with you: the message box is plain text. There is no bold or italic, no images, no attachments, no merge fields like the recipient's name, and no preview of the finished email. Write it as you would write a short note. Better formatting and a live preview are on the list.

A good example

On the Artist Sale Notification, something like:

"Someone just fell in love with your work. Pack it carefully, and add your tracking number on your Orders page when it ships so we can all follow it along."

Where to find it: Settings → Emails. Older help text pointed at a template editor with preview and merge fields. That page never existed, so if you went looking for it and came up empty, it was us and not you.
